This was a really interesting documentary on Mary Shelley and the story of Frankenstein. The only slight disappointment for me was that most of the extracts from the stage play were those with Jonny Lee Miller as the monster. Now I have nothing against JLM but Benedict did a much more emotional job playing the monster, it was deeper, more connected. I really really hope that the National Theater see fit to release it on DVD one day. Preferably both versions because they are both worth seeing.
I agree. After seeing Benedict as the Creature, JLM’s performance felt flat and disappointing.
